Pay your account

Warning: check these details by phone before you pay

We never change our banking details by email. If you receive an email, SMS or message claiming our account has changed, it did not come from us.

Before making any payment, telephone us on 067 543 4732 and read the account details back to us. Use the number on this page or one you have found independently — never a number contained in an email.

Our account

Our banking details are on the letter or email we sent you. They are not published on this website.

That is deliberate. Details on a public page can be copied and re-sent by someone pretending to be us. The correspondence we addressed to you is the source — and the telephone call below is how you confirm it.

Before you pay

  1. Find the banking details on the letter or email we sent you.
  2. Telephone us on 067 543 4732 and read them back to us. We will confirm them, or tell you they are wrong.
  3. Use the reference printed on that same letter.

If you no longer have the letter, telephone us and we will give you the details and your reference. We do not send banking details by email or SMS.

How much to pay

The amount is stated on your most recent letter. It changes over time, so if your letter is more than a month old, telephone us for the current figure before paying it in full.

A part payment is still worth making. It reduces what you owe and it shows an intention to pay, which matters if the matter proceeds.

If you cannot pay it all

Telephone us or reply to the email you received. We can usually agree instalments through an acknowledgement of debt under section 57 of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, which lets you repay over time without judgment being taken against you.

An arrangement that is kept stops further steps. An arrangement is only useful if it is one you can actually afford, so tell us what is realistic rather than agreeing to a figure that will fail.

If you dispute the debt

Say so in writing, and tell us why. If you have already paid, send us proof of payment and we will check it against our client’s records. We would rather correct an error than proceed on one.

You are also entitled to approach a debt counsellor, the National Credit Regulator, the Credit Ombud, or a consumer court. If you are already under debt review, tell us and give us your debt counsellor’s details — we will deal with them instead of with you.
